Session Abstract:

 
In this session we'll start with some of the basics of Ethernet communications and the IBM i Ethernet line description. We'll discuss basic parameters, reliability parameters and throughput and performance.  
 
  • Once we understand everything the line can be we'll review quickly setting up IP Addresses, routes and the rest of IP configuration in IBM i including name resolution and host table entries.
  •  
  • Next we'll discuss load balancing and Ethernet line failover in a virtual IP environment.
  •  
  • With that background we'll continue into the newest features Aggregation and bridging. Well go cover the requirements for each and the configuration of each feature in detail.
  •  
    Finally we'll discuss Ethernet and IP Troubleshooting including new Comm Trace options, Traceroute, Ping, NSlookup, Dig and more!
